Kit-for-conservation.org is a simple concept, really. You buy a piece of kit from selected partners and manufacturers who are in on the scheme and you will automatically support Biosphere Expeditions' wildlife conservation efforts across the globe.
Whenever you buy from the Kit for Conservation range, a friendly accountant somewhere will give a chunk of money to Biosphere Expeditions' wildlife conservation projects around our planet.

We launched this initiative in late summer 2007 and the first piece of kit in the range is a 100% certified organic cotton T-shirt produced following the Ethical Trading Initiative Labour Standards Code (which means that everyone involved in making it gets decent wages and fair employment conditions).

First of all we guarantee that at least 80% of the money we receive from the accountants goes towards our project work. We can guarantee such a large proportion because we are a small, flexible organisation with no steel and glass headquarters to maintain or bureaucratic dinosaurs to feed.

NOTE that this figure is currently zero because the initiative only launched in late summer 2007. Check back in the spring of 2008 for the first update.
All funds received will go into a special fund. Once we get going, details will go up on this website whenever we draw from this fund.
For example, we may may spend some of the fund on printing education materials for local people, or on training up a local conservationist under the guidance of our project scientists. It's impossible to say what will be needed over a longer period of time and where the next urgent need will crop up, but we will always keep you informed so that you can see exactly where your money goes.
